Junior Free-Ride Program
MSEF is excited to announce we’ve created a new program this year, Junior Free-Ride. The Junior Free-Ride program is designed to serve as a bridge between the Griz program and YSL and/or the Free-Ride program in an effort to fill the gap between athletes that are looking to explore all options on the mountain.
The primary focus of the Junior Free-Ride program will be on fundamental skill acquisition through a combination of all-mountain skiing, drills, limited race based training, and Big-Mountain/Free-Ride training in a safe, fun, and challenging environment. The targeted age group for this program is 9 - 12 years of age, and is designed for athletes who possess a strong base level of skiing ability, but aren’t necessarily interested in competitive alpine racing.
Athletes are not required to compete however, if they chose to compete in either Free-Ride or Alpine competitions, MSEF will have coaching support for them at those events.
Dryland training is available at an additional cost. Night training is also available at an additional cost, see Night Training.
All Free-Ride athletes are highly encouraged to be equipped with a helmet; avalanche beacon, probe, shovel, and backpack.
